Doors of Shippan is an annual Holiday wreath decorating event that has been a popular neighborhood tradition for over 50 years. All Shippan residents are invited to decorate their front doors and join in a friendly neighborhood competition based on the principles of design.
Popular design categories are:
- Newcomer (first-time entrants only)
- Traditional (can include ribbons, bows, pinecones, berries, etc.)
- All Natural (floral, garden, seasons, berries, citrus)
- Something you believe in (religious, cultural, world peace, etc.)
- Creative and Unconventional (artistic and imaginative)
- By The Sea (shells, driftwood, netting, etc.)
- And more
We encourage the use of natural materials; the entry form has details on the current categories and design requirements. The entry deadline is the end of November and ribbon distribution takes place in the second week of December. Please review the detailed information on the current entry form.
